How to Stay Healthy Traveling

Many pleasures in life is to experience and discover what makes you happy. Whether it's the joy of traveling to new places, trying new foods, or indulging in your hobbies. In my experience, I believe that travel is a lifestyle that can help shape you into the best version of yourself. I'm sure not everyone has themselves figured out. There was a point in my life where I didn't know what my hobbies were, and I had a lot of procrastination. Mindless social media scrolling and bingeing Netflix, weekly partying, which isn't necessarily what I would call a lifestyle. These are just a distraction of really getting to know yourself.
Since I've had my solo-trip, I've realized that there is so much about myself I have yet to learn. It took a bad breakup from a long term relationship to reinvent myself, at the age of 25. Now, I'm 32. At one point, I was living with him and morphed into his interests of what he enjoyed. As well, working a retail job and not having time to do many other things. I was burnt out and living just to get by. I've always loved nature, working out, and traveling but, he didn't. Settling and losing yourself is quite common. I think it's something that people struggle with, wanting comfort and having to share these experiences with someone alongside. No one wants to be alone, or having to figure it all out alone. But, truthfully this was one of the best experienced that has shaped me.
Living in Costa Rica for a month, twice a year made me realize that life isn't meant to stay put in one spot. Maybe not for others but, I don't really get homesick. It's the simplicity of the culture there that made me appreciate life more. The days felt longer. The daily sunrise and sunset was great for my dose serotonin. In Canada it's not often you would see sunset, more so gloomy days. I just felt happier. Vacationing would be different, because who wouldn't be happy on a vacation? But, it wasn't about that. I wasn't just lounging by the beach and sun tanning all day, with services. I had lived there locally with a car rental to get me around.
